I’ve been putting off making a new post because Luke’s bathroom is almost finished but it is slow going. The good news is that the tile floor is finished and sealed. The trim has been painted and the baseboard and moulding is being reinstalled. And I GOT THE DOOR HUNG (finally) and now just have to add a doorknob and strike plate.

The really exciting news is that I primed the drywall on Luke’s bedroom wall and it came out GREAT!! I mean I shouldn’t quit my day job but it is smooth and there are no visible seams or drywall screws showing! Tomorrow I plan to paint it and the ceiling, at which point I’ll be ready for flooring and trim. On my side of the wall the plan is to paint it and make it a slat wall.

The next big challenge is framing in the pipes – both in the bathroom and bedroom – to hide the ugliness and give the whole thing a finished/polished look. Today Luke picked out a flush mount ceiling light that should be brighter and more to his style!! Originally we thought about LVP for the floor. But today in Lowes I had some 1/4″ plywood ripped to 9″ strips and Luke now thinks he wants that on the floor. Very light and natural looking. I would simply seal it with a coat of polyurethane. I am still ruminating on that one!!
