While there haven’t been any big revelations these past 2 weeks we are making progress. Finally Luke’s bedroom is just about finished. I got the door stained and sealed and hung. It does still need a door knob. I also completed the shoe moulding and baseboards. The floor is totally finished as well.
Other updates include: all new locks on our doors – we want to program them to all use the same key, a mini-split was installed in the Carriage House, I managed to find a Queen bed frame, a dresser and a table on Facebook Marketplace, the electric panel is schedule to be upgraded next week, and I placed an order at Home Depot for all the appliances and a small shower. We had a plumber come and install the new faucet and shower head in Luke’s bathroom. While he was here we had him hang our TV in the living room!!!
We continue to fight with our groundhogs! They have eaten the bark off Luke’s new evergreens and continue to tunnel below the Carriage House and 2 other places in the yard. Google suggested several remedies including Irish Spring soap, lavender and garlic – none of which have worked. Today the gloves came off – no more Miss Nice Guy – I put 60 lbs of cement powder down each hole and then turned on the hose. Hopefully this redirects them to other yards!
